Ambassador Weiser is well known for his generosity — he is one of the two largest donors of all time to the University of Michigan and Michigan Medicine — and the proceeds for this selection will benefi t breast cancer research. Aside from his love and support for the University of Michigan, one of Ambassador Weiser’s great passions in life is wine. His appreciation for wine was instilled by his grandfather, and after fi nding early success Ron began to focus on collecting. Ambassador Weiser was thoughtful and deliberate in his purchases, enjoying close relationships with Serena Sutcliff e and Michael Broadbent and consulting with them on provenance and conditions before buying from London wine auctions in the 1990s. Ron is a member of Bacchus and has passed on his love of wine to his son. Champagne and the Rhône Valley are the featured regions in this selection, with many large formats from both to enjoy. The off ering of Bordeaux here is impressively comprehensive, with library selections of Lafi te, Latour, Mouton and Montrose and exciting verticals of Haut-Brion Blanc and Yquem.
