Paul Hart Chairman & CEO Hart Davis Hart Auction Co. September 2025 Hello September! The fall auction season is well underway here at Hart Davis Hart. We conducted an incredible four-day auction in August, the largest in HDH history, with 1,237 bidders and the most ever individual bids. Next on the docket is An Auction of Finest and Rarest Wines on September 25th and 26th, an exceptional sale including The Bellevue Collection; Romanée-Conti and La Romanée, Pillars of Burgundy; and Outstanding Burgundy, Champagne and More from the Cellar of a Gentleman. On Thursday The Bellevue Collection (lots 226-429) represents twenty years of amassing pristine, high-caliber wines by a collector who intended to enjoy them for decades to come. The focus here is on high-end and collectible wines in original packaging: case quantities of fi rst growths, plus Lafl eur, Pétrus and Le Pin; Dom Pérignon, Krug and Salon in serious volume; treasured Domaine de la Romanée-Conti including three-bottle cases of Corton-Charlemagne and Romanée-Conti, and six-packs of La Tâche; and much more. In Friday’s session Romanée-Conti and La Romanée, Pillars of Burgundy (lots 1214-1263) is a concise but astoundingly serious selection of DRC and Comte Liger-Belair from the cellar of a longtime lover and collector of wine. The 99 bottles of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti are heavily concentrated on the 1990, 1991, 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2002 vintages, while the La Romanée, Comte Liger-Belair represents a complete vertical from 2008-2012 including 9 magnums. Later Friday, Outstanding Burgundy, Champagne and More from the Cellar of a Gentleman (lots 1502-1685) is a selection of magnifi cent wines hailing from a longtime friend and generous collector. The very best of Burgundy is represented, including three bottles of 1999 La Tâche and a magnum of 1993 Musigny, Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier, while the têtes de cuvée highlights are a magnum of 1998 Dom Pérignon Rosé, P3 Vintage, three bottles of 1995 Krug, Clos d’Ambonnay, and Salon 1999 and 2006 in magnums. Many important cellars well-known to HDH round out this spectacular auction, including Wines from the Collection of Publishing Executive Thomas O. Ryder (lots 92-187), Important New and Old World Wines (lots 1087-1213), A Historic Vertical Off ering of Château Palmer acquired through Mahler-Besse (lots 1443-1459), and A Remarkable Selection of Historic Wines (lots 1460-1496).
